Guitar Players

About a week ago I was walking through the Student Union at my school and ran across this pair of guys playing their guitars. Acoustic guitar played decently is always a pleasure to listen to and I was looking to kill some time. This sketch was the result. Music is so great to have on in the background when you're drawing. Something about is very fueling. Like gasoline to a car.

Matching Pair

Just loaded a small batch of sketches onto my computer the other day. I'm going to digitally finish these two as companion pieces. Their themes will show more once I have some color on them .

Warming up

No project wips to post this time so I'm showing you what I do to warm up pretty much every morning. It not only helps me hand and brain get moving it gives me a chance to experiment with different things and work on value and shape. It should help me with color sense to once I start doing more color. A little tedious maybe but the practice is a good thing.

Rarr

Yeah I'm a little late on the ball, as usual, with this post. It's also a tiny image (sorry). This is my work in progress montage for a redesign of Frankenstein's Bride for the weekly CHOW on CA.org.

The inspiration for my take on her came a little from Halloween Horror Nights. They had a Frankenstein haunted house this year with a Steampunk theme so I figure "Oh yay, Shiny!" and started sketching on the spot. I know there are problems but at least I can say it's finished without feeling like a horrible liar. And hey, she doesn't have two left feet anymore! (Thanks to the astute observation of my boyfriend. )

I have posted the completed piece on my DeviantArt page if you're interested. http://aurengreenleaf.deviantart.com/art/Frankenstein-s-Bride-143799735

Black River Crew

Another CA character design challenge. Hope I can keep some of the things in the sketch that are good when it goes to ink and render. The hardest things to keep are the faces and the movement. Everything falls apart because I lose those.
